The FSC general assembly brings together hundreds of leaders and decision-makers from Indigenous Peoples, environmentalists, businesses, and others from FSC’s membership to discuss a responsible future for the world’s forests, and the people and animals who inhabit them. Delegates also include certification bodies, certificate holders, union representatives, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and observers.
This webinar presented the board’s work to implement Motion 63 from 2017, including the efforts to develop a revised Network Policy and Procedure. In the webinar, members got an update on the process for this work, including the upcoming public consultation. The webinar was also relevant for the current motions related to Network Development.

We have come a long way on climate and ecosystem services (CES) over the past two years. We now have a stronger market position, three value propositions, a business model progressing towards implementation, technology roadmap, and not least a strong team in Bonn and in three regions.
We are pleased to announce the launch of a Discussion Forum channel on the first FSC Global Strategy Dialogues and a new subsection with all the outcomes from the first round. Additionally, you can already register for the second FSC Global Strategy Dialogues to be held on 22, 23 & 24 September 2020.
FSC thanks Earthsight and the co-signing NGOs for their open letter dated 25 October 2021 and their ongoing engagement and concern to protect the world’s forests and make them more resilient. We continuously act to strengthen forest stewardship and welcome constructive criticism to improve our system where necessary.
The revised FSC Chain of Custody standards (FSC-STD-40-004 and FSC-STD-20-011) now include auditable social compliance requirements.
The FSC controlled wood programme has passed two important milestones since our last update:
- Approval of the Strategy for FSC Mix Products and Controlled Wood.
- Approval of 70% of all planned FSC risk assessments.
FSC is calling international members to apply for attending the Sustainable Intensification Solution Forum (SISF), 24 – 26 June 2019 in Bonn, Germany.
On 24 – 26 June 2019 FSC is organizing the Sustainable Intensification Solutions Forum in Bonn. In line with the attached Terms of Reference, we are looking for 5 representatives of each – social, economic & environmental - chamber.

The Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) decision to lift the suspension of Asia Pulp and Paper’s (APP) remedy process marks an important step in ensuring accountability for past environmental and social harms. Remedy is the pathway FSC uses to confront serious violations — not avoid them — and to drive real, lasting change on the ground.
