FSC International held the Second Conversion Dialogue, which took place online on November 30, 2020 at 11:00 (CET), and an identical second session at 16:00 (CET).

FSC International held the Third Conversion Dialogue, which took place online on 03 march 2021 at 10:00 (CET), with an identical second session at 16:00 (CET).
The following topics were covered:
- An overview of the planned timelines for discussions and decisions in the different processes relevant for the Policy on Conversion. We will look at what is expected in the lead-up to the FSC General Assembly, what will be available for discussion and decision at the GA itself, and what will happen after;
- The process of alignment between FSC’s work on conversion and the Policy for Association with a particular focus on how we ensure that remedy is considered in a consistent way across the different work streams.
The FSC general assembly brings together hundreds of leaders and decision-makers from Indigenous Peoples, environmentalists, businesses, and others from FSC’s membership to discuss a responsible future for the world’s forests, and the people and animals who inhabit them. Delegates also include certification bodies, certificate holders, union representatives, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and observers.
This webinar presented the board’s work to implement Motion 63 from 2017, including the efforts to develop a revised Network Policy and Procedure. In the webinar, members got an update on the process for this work, including the upcoming public consultation. The webinar was also relevant for the current motions related to Network Development.

After three days of intense deliberations, the FSC International Board of Directors supported, by consensus, a package of documents that define FSC’s approach to tackling conversion and ensuring remedy of past social and environmental harm. This decision was made during the 93rd Board Meeting that took place in Oaxaca, Mexico on 24-26 August 2022.
We are pleased to announce the launch of two new spaces for membership engagement and discussion on the Update of the FSC Global Strategy 2021-2026: A Discussion Forum channel and the FSC Global Strategy Dialogues.
An updated version of the International Generic Indicators (IGI) (FSC-STD-60-004) aligned with the recently published FSC Principles and Criteria V5-3 and including new IGI for highly hazardous pesticides is published. The related addendum to the Pesticides Policy is available now too.
A revised version of the ADVICE 20-007-20 Implementation of FM Digital Reporting has been incorporated into the FSC-DIR-20-007 FSC Directive on FSC Forest Management Evaluations.

FSC co-signed a letter to the Members of the European Parliament to support the AGRI Committee's report, which will be voted on 6 October 2020.
The results of the third transaction verification (TV) loop on FSC-certified bamboo supply chains reveal that several certificate holders in China pose a serious threat to the integrity of FSC’s certification system. While some certificate holders have made false claims on their products, others have engaged in actions that pose a significant risk to FSC’s integrity and credibility.
Considering the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, and the fact that the health of our community is our top priority, we believe our only option is to postpone the 2020 FSC General Assembly.

FSC Remedy Framework defines permanent and effective measures required for remedy of harm caused by unacceptable activities as defined by the Policy for the Association of Organizations with FSC V2-0 or by conversion between 1 December 1994 and 31 December 2020.
The objective of this document is to specify the requirements for FSC-accredited certification bodies for developing Interim National Standard (INS) or Interim Regional Standard (IRS), depending on the geographic scope of the standard, for the certification of responsible forest management and the responsible management of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) at the Management Unit (MU) level. These standards shall be based on the International Generic Indicators (IGI) and shall address the regional, national or sub-national conditions in which they are to be used and shall consider input from local stakeholders. The FSC Board of Directors at FSC International, acting through the Policy Steering Group (PSG) shall approve Interim National Standards (INS) before they can be used for FSC certification purposes. In March 2020 the revised procedure was published to reflect the FSC Board of Directors’ decision during their 82nd meeting to delegate the approval of INS to the Policy Steering Group.
