La consulta pública permanecerá abierta del 11 de julio al 14 de agosto de 2022 y servirá para recopilar los comentarios de los actores interesados con respecto al informe sobre la revisión conjunta del FSC-STD-20-001 V4-0: Requisitos generales para entidades de certificación acreditadas por el FSC, y dos procedimientos relacionados, el FSC-PRO-20-003 V1-0: Certificados y Contratos de Licencia FSC y el FSC-PRO-20-004 V1-2: Requisitos generales para el Programa de Capacitación FSC.

El Estándar Nacional Provisional (ENP) del FSC para Austria es aplicable a todo tipo de organizaciones que trabajan en bosques naturales y plantaciones del país, incluyendo bosques pequeños y con manejo de baja intensidad (SLIMF, por sus siglas en inglés). El ENP también es aplicable a productos forestales no maderables (vea la sección “A.2 Alcance” del ENP para obtener más información). El estándar entrará en vigor el 01 de marzo 2023.

Entre 2019 y 2022, el Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Espaciales de Brasil registró una pérdida de bosques cercana a los 10,000 kilómetros cuadrados por año. La identificación de estrategias para poner un alto a la deforestación es primordial.
El FSC está llamando a los miembros internacionales a aplicar para asistir al Foro de Soluciones de Intensificación Sostenible (Sustainable Intensification Solution Forum, SISF), del 24 al 26 de junio de 2019 en Bonn, Alemania.
El Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) está extremadamente preocupado por denuncias de que hay papel higiénico de bambú que contiene otras fibras de madera. Las denuncias presentadas a través de un medio de comunicación especializado en investigación aluden a rollos de papel higiénico etiquetados FSC.
En agosto, El Consejo Directivo del FSC Internacional aprobó el reporte que presentaba los criterios e indicadores genéricos, dando luz verde al desarrollo de requisitos auditables para los titulares de certificados.
