Through an electronic ballot launched prior to the GA2025, or as one of the first agenda items of the GA2025, all eligible members will be invited to vote on the following statutory requirements: 

a) Approval of the membership’s list with acceptance of new members and the destitution of members whose membership has elapsed 

b) Approval of these Rules of Procedure 

c) Approval of Audited Financial Statements 

d) Ratification of the Presiding Officer 

e) Presentation of the Electoral Committee

First hour: We will discuss the two remaining prioritized motions.

Second hour: We will host a "Motion Pitch Express" session.

What is a Motion Pitch Express? A focused space for Policy Motions  that were not prioritised for discussion in previous sessions to be heard. The total duration will be 60 minutes.

Each proposer will have 2 minutes to present:

• The problem

• The proposed solution

• The call to action

This presents a unique opportunity to learn about motions and to provide feedback to the proposers in the chat.

FSC takes a closer look at the scope of forest conversion rules

As stipulated by Policy Motion 12 of the 2014 Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) General Assembly (GA), a working group tasked with reviewing FSC conversion rules has met in Bonn, Germany, to explore new possibilities for improving the management, restoration and conservation of forest areas that are currently not certifiable.

Review Report of FSC Principles and Criteria Is Now Open for Public Consultation

The report on the revision of the FSC Principles and Criteria (Version 5-2) is now available for a 50-day public consultation. The main proposal is that FSC should wait until 2023 to revise its Principles and Criteria because the transition of all FSC national standards to the latest Principles and Criteria (Version 5-2) is still ongoing.

Structure, Content and Development of Interim National Standards
Procedure (PRO)
FSC-PRO-60-007
The objective of this document is to specify the requirements for FSC-accredited certification bodies for developing Interim National Standard (INS) or Interim Regional Standard (IRS), depending on the geographic scope of the standard, for the certification of responsible forest management and the responsible management of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) at the Management Unit (MU) level. These standards shall be based on the International Generic Indicators (IGI) and shall address the regional, national or sub-national conditions in which they are to be used and shall consider input from local stakeholders. The FSC Board of Directors at FSC International, acting through the Policy Steering Group (PSG) shall approve Interim National Standards (INS) before they can be used for FSC certification purposes. In March 2020 the revised procedure was published to reflect the FSC Board of Directors’ decision during their 82nd meeting to delegate the approval of INS to the Policy Steering Group.
