After three days of intense deliberations, the FSC International Board of Directors supported, by consensus, a package of documents that define FSC’s approach to tackling conversion and ensuring remedy of past social and environmental harm. This decision was made during the 93rd Board Meeting that took place in Oaxaca, Mexico on 24-26 August 2022.
An updated version of the International Generic Indicators (IGI) (FSC-STD-60-004) aligned with the recently published FSC Principles and Criteria V5-3 and including new IGI for highly hazardous pesticides is published. The related addendum to the Pesticides Policy is available now too.
The results of the third transaction verification (TV) loop on FSC-certified bamboo supply chains reveal that several certificate holders in China pose a serious threat to the integrity of FSC’s certification system. While some certificate holders have made false claims on their products, others have engaged in actions that pose a significant risk to FSC’s integrity and credibility.
