The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is seeking candidates for a chamber-balanced subgroup that will be part of the Working Group revising the requirements for the development and maintenance of FSC Country Requirements: Forest Stewardship Standards (FSS) and FSC Risk Assessments (procedures FSC-PRO-60-006 and FSC-PRO-60-006a).
Since 1996, FSC’s General Assembly (GA) has been the place where members come together to steer the system’s evolution. Each gathering reflects its time: the challenges on the ground, the debates across chambers, and the decisions that have shaped how FSC grows.
The revised Policy for Association (PfA) complaint procedure – allowing for swifter processes and better outcomes for forests and people – will be tested in 2021.
FSC is proud to announce that Zandra Martinez, from Oaxaca, Mexico, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the International Board of Directors for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Zandra will also be supported by Janne Näräkkä and Per Larsson as Vice Chairs and Ivone Satsuki Namikawa as Treasurer.
FSC has blocked An Viet Phat Energy Co. Ltd (SGSHK-COC-370077) for deliberately making false claims on a large volume of wood pellets they sold in 2020. An ongoing transaction verification loop revealed that An Viet Phat Energy created purchase documents with FSC 100% claims for non-FSC raw material. An Viet Phat Energy used this material for producing wood pellets, which they sold with FSC 100% claims.
