"Motions in Motion" are global membership meetings, providing a dedicated space for cross chamber discussions around all statutory motions and each chamber’s top five policy motions. It is a space for negotiation, merging, refinement, and amendments in relation to secretariat feasibility analyses and members’ feedback.

FSC Members propose motions to prioritize issues or ideas that are important for the development of FSC. A motion is a proposal to change or create an FSC Policy or Statute through member discussion, debate and voting. Submitting a motion is one of the most important actions an FSC member can take. Statutory motions are proposals to amend the FSC Statutes or Principles & Criteria while Policy motions are proposals for amendments to FSC policies or operational procedures.

In this event we had the motions discussion, where the proposers provided information on their motions, members were able to ask questions or comment on the motion and had a lively debate with the motion proposers.

The FSC-STD-01-003 SLIMF and Community Forest Eligibility Criteria is open for public consultation from 14 April 2022 to 13 June 2022. This second version of the standard now includes a definition for community forest and increases the flexibility of local adaptation of small or low intensity managed forest (SLIMF) and community forest criteria. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is launching the 2nd public consultation on the revision of FSC-STD-50-001: Requirements for the Use of FSC® Trademarks by Certificate Holders.
Environmental chamber member needed for the revision of FSC-STD-30-010.
FSC Members are invited to submit a proposal to host a side event at the FSC general assembly which can relate to a key FSC topic or motion.
All stakeholders are invited to comment on the draft of the FSC advice note on addressing deliberate false claims. The deadline for commenting is 17 February 2020.
Motion 12 was approved at the FSC General Assembly 2014 in Seville, Spain and called for a process to consider the challenges and opportunities for plantation restoration and conversion. Following its approval, a chamber-balanced working group drafted a proposal for potential solutions. Now FSC International invites all stakeholders who would like to contribute to the development of the conversion rules to join a consultative forum webinar with Motion 12 Working Group.
