It is a space for negotiation, merging, refinement, and amendments in relation to secretariat feasibility analyses and members’ feedback.

FSC Members propose motions to prioritize issues or ideas that are important for the development of FSC. A motion is a proposal to change or create an FSC Policy or Statute through member discussion, debate and voting. Submitting a motion is one of the most important actions an FSC member can take. Statutory motions are proposals to amend the FSC Statutes or Principles & Criteria while Policy motions are proposals for amendments to FSC policies or operational procedures.
Climate Change and Biodiversity
Forests are frontline defenders against climate change and biodiversity loss. Topics in this session will include:
- How FSC standards can strengthen forests' resilience to climate change.
- Protecting and restoring biodiversity in managed forests.

In preparation for the FSC General Assembly in 2021, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is preparing knowledge papers, summarizing developments in topics of importance to discussions in FSC’s membership.
The FSC Remedy Framework consultation will now start in mid-March 2022 and stay open for 60 days (until mid-May), instead of opening in February as originally planned.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) in collaboration with Assurance Services International (ASI) launched a transaction verification (TV) loop on FSC-certified teak in June 2022.

This first version of the FSC Forest Stewardship Standard for Ecuador applies to all categories of management units operating in natural forest and plantations and becomes effective on 1 November 2022.
