In this webinar, members had the chance to ask the candidates questions, ask about their position on relevant topics, and their vision for the future of FSC under their leadership.

These global meetings amongst international members kicked-off motion discussions. It included the presentation of the highest-ranked motions resulting from the discussion prioritization exercise completed by the membership in early September. We showcased the survey results, followed by an introduction of the highest-ranked motions by chamber and a lively discussion with the motion proposers.

This interim national standard will become effective on 01 December 2020.

International fashion brand H&M recently committed to source man-made cellulosic fibres used in their products from sustainable sources – particularly from non-ancient and endangered forests and preferencing FSC-certified forests – by the end of 2025. Through this pledge, the company sought to address forest depletion and deforestation. Fibres would also be sourced from recycled textiles and agricultural residues.
The interim national standard of Belize will take effect on 26 August 2020.
The interim national standard for eSwatini will become effective on 14 July 2020.
The national forest stewardship standard for Indonesia will be effective by 1 December 2020.
Members for the technical working group have been selected to revise FSC-STD-20-007 and will begin meeting in February 2021.
FSC invites all interested stakeholders to participate in a series of webinars focused on the ongoing revision of the Principles and Criteria (P&C), International Generic Indicators (IGI) and other forest management normative documents.
