The FSC Board of Directors is mandated by the FSC AC statutes to manage the organization. The board of directors is the highest decision-making body in the organization after the FSC General Assembly (which is the supreme authority of the organization), being elected by the FSC membership to guide and provide oversight to the organization.
Members propose motions to prioritize issues or ideas that are important for the development of FSC. A motion is a proposal to change or create a FSC Policy or Statute through member discussion, debate and voting. Statutory motions are proposals to amend the FSC Statutes or Principles & Criteria. Policy motions are proposals for amendments to FSC policies or operational procedures. Use the filter tool to view motion by status.

The interim national standard of Belize will take effect on 26 August 2020.
The interim national standard for eSwatini will become effective on 14 July 2020.

In December, FSC is providing two workshops on the FSC core labour requirements, as part of the conceptual phase for the revision of our chain of custody standards.
The internal procedure FSC-PRO-10-606 Approval of Forest Stewardship Standards, which describes the approval process of national standards by the Policy and Standards Committee (PSC), has been revised to reflect the FSC Board of Directors decision to streamline the approval process of national standards.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) has decided to set conditions for maintaining association with WOB Timber GmbH based on the recommendations of a panel of external experts (decision panel), which were approved by the FSC International Board of Directors. In June 2023, FSC and WOB Timber signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which stipulates the conditions that WOB Timber shall fulfil within 12 months for maintaining its association with FSC.
